Why this exists

Becoming a forward deployed engineer isn’t an incremental skill upgrade — it’s a fundamental change in how a technologist works. The traditional IT model — take a spec, hand back a deliverable, own none of the outcome — trains the wrong instincts for it. For anyone building toward this work, that model isn’t just unhelpful; it’s detrimental.

And as AI absorbs more of the write-code-to-spec work, there may be no durable technology career for most people that isn’t some form of forward deployed engineering: sitting with the problem, owning the outcome, shipping the thing. This platform exists to make that path legible — to show what the work is, and how to grow into it.
